Eastern Testing and Inspection is a company that performs non-destructive examination (NDE) and physical testing. Eastern Testing and Inspection Inc. has been in business for over 50 years and is a leader in the field of non-destructive examination. ETI’s experience and personnel has moved the company to the forefront in both nuclear and non-nuclear testing.
The personnel of ETI are comprised of Level III, Level II examiners, engineers and certified technicians. They have been performing inspection for many years in such industries as chemical, petrochemical. Power plants, pipelines, machines shops, hospitals and construction. All inspections are performed according to the various government codes and regulations as well as specifications.
ETI’s highly qualified personnel are up to date on the latest methods and techniques of non-destructive examination through classes and seminars conducted be the Level III examiners.
The company currently has offices located in New Hyde Park, New York, and Thorofare, New Jersey. ETI is also licensed by the State of New York Department of Labor Division of Safety and Health and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Himat Soni
President
Himat Soni has been performing consulting services in all phases of Engineering and Management in the metal fabrication industries, ship building, nuclear power generation stations, and high pressure steam lines for non-destructive testing activities in Holland, United Kingdom, Canada, India, and the United States for over 35 years.
Mr. Soni is a member of the American Society for Non- Destructive Testing (ASNT) and is a certified welding inspector as per AWS. He is certified as per CGSB standards 48- 6p4 and 48-GP7 in non-destructive testing issued by the Division of Physical Metallurgy, Ottawa Canada and is a certified welding inspector of the British Gas Council, England. He has been extensively involved in training personnel as per ASNT-TC-IA requirements.
Himat Soni has a BS Degree in Physics and a BS Degree in Engineering Metallurgy from the University of London England.
Dhiraj Soni
Executive Vice President
Mr. Dhiraj Soni has been performing non-destructive inspection and testing for over 36 years for various industries. He trains ETI personnel for radiographic, ultrasonic, liquid penetrant and magnetic particle inspections for compliance with ASME codes and 831.1, 831.7, API 1104, and MIEI-271.
Dhiraj manages manpower requirements for ETI and coordinates activities between ETI, and our clients. He does consulting on failure analysis and makes recommendations on the proper NDT method to be used on special products developed by our customers. Dhiraj also reviews radiographic as an SNT-TC-IA Level II for correct code interpretation.
Mr. Soni has a BS Degree in Chemistry.
James L. Letts
Senior Vice President
James L. Letts has been in the material testing and inspection industry for over 8 years. Prior to this he was in the Financial lndustry for over 22 years.
Mr. Letts is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the firm including marketing, finance, and Human Resources. He is responsible to plan long term financial and Business policies for Eastern Testing and Inspection Inc.
James has a BS Degree in Business.
